Restoring Old Installed Updates

When people choose to automatically download and install updates into their computers, they always have the option to hide that current update so that it will not take affect at that given moment. Although these are already installed updates, the hidden action that you placed on them will let them become inactive until you reactive them or restore them in the future. In some cases, the updates are only downloaded but not installed but they can always be installed at your preferred time and date.

To restore the hidden updates that have been previously installed, you need to go the Windows Update page from the Start button once the Windows Update page is open, look for the tab that says Restore Hidden Updates. This tab will take you to the page where all hidden updates that were previously downloaded can be found.

The page will open and you will be given a list of all the updates that are downloaded in your system. The only thing that you need to do is to click on the restore button which is right next to the update to install and activate it. Since updates will affect the entire computer system, you might be prompted to provide a password from the administrator of the computer before pushing through with the restoration.
